I can only speak to the lg cx 48 as thats what I have, got it a few weeks ago.įor OLED burn in I dont really know. ![]() Please share any experience you've had with any of them! Thank you for any feedback or recommendations! No PBP - this is a bummer, as I'd love to be able to use both my Mac and PC on the same screen, but I'm open to just switching the inputs.48" is huge - I have a monitor arm that supports heavy monitors, so I'll at least be able to push it farther back on my desk. The colors and image quality will be better on a glossy screen, but I'm worried it may be too reflective. Glossy screen - this is a pro and a con.OLED burn-in - so far, people are not really reporting this issue with LG's recent OLED panels, which makes me feel good, but it doesn't mean this isn't a risk.My hesitations for the 48" LG OLED CX/C1 are the following: Potential QA issues - I heard the new batch has been decent so far, but I've also read horror stories.VA panel color accuracy - it's possible the colors are just not accurate enough for design or video work.I've seen videos regarding this and it doesn't look great. I would hate to buy this now only for the mini-LED version to release a few months down the road after my return window has closed. A mini-LED version of this monitor has recently been announced. My hesitations for the Samsung Odyssey G9 are the following: There will be bars above and below, but at least the pixels will truly be off, which apparently provides a really nice ultrawide experience. Support for custom resolutions - meaning I can emulate an ultrawide resolution easily.OLED - outstanding colors, true blacks, and handles ghosting better. The 48" LG OLED CX/C1 appeals to be for the following reasons: 240Hz - somewhat cool, but most builds won't be able to push that kind of performance (depending on the game).PBP - I can use my MacBook alongside my PC. ![]() 32:9 resolution - awesome for productivity and gaming. The Samsung Odyssey G9 appeals to me for the following reasons: I do design work, so color accuracy is important, but I also love to game, so gaming performance is something to consider, as well. I am torn between these two displays, given that they are in the same price range.įor context, I would be using the display with both Mac and PC. AMD did suggest that games such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Death Stranding, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will benefit from upscaling on its new Radeon GPUs, but the results are very much to be determined at this stage.Subreddit of the 21:9 & 32:9 aspect ratio Join us on Discord! / Ultrawide Enthusiasts The issue is, will anyone actually need ultrawide 8K resolution when this monitor launches in 2023? Many games won’t support native 8K yet and there’s no guarantee that 8K upscaling will provide groundbreaking results compared to native 4K. The Neo G9 is the newest version and adds Mini LED backlighting for even brighter performance. The color reproduction was excellent and the display was incredibly bright, particularly in HDR mode.
